| | | invertebrate photography help Hello all,
I was just wondering what set up is needed to achieve reasonable photography of insects through a microscope?
I have a stereo microscope and obviously a reasonable digi camera but what bits are needed to get photos through the scope?
The scope works at 20 and 40x mag with the wf10x eyepieces.
Im guessing I have to remove the eyepieces and there must be a universal camera connection or something?
Any help welcomed,
Cheers in advance |

| | | Re: invertebrate photography help Morning Mein,
What make and model is your microscope and camera? I use a Fuji S5600 with my Apex Examiner 20x stereo microscope. The thing is, the better your camera is zoom-wise, the more distant the subject will appear in your photographs! Ideally you need to use a camera with less glass elements such as a compact.
You can buy adaptors depending on the camera/'scope, which should contain glass elements that will compensate for any distance induced by your camera's glass lenses.
Are there any USB camera accessories for it? That should pop-in the microscope in place of a WF10/ 20x eyepiece and generally give good results.
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: invertebrate photography help morning Jason,
Thanks for the reply!
My camera is a compact fuji e900 basic point and shoot type job, the microscope appears to be unbranded though has a sticker saying courier tools reading (possibly serviced there?).
Ive not actually tried just taking a picture through the scope yet.....thought it would be more complicated than that? | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
