| | | ID pls for poss mining bee and bright-winged something I do so hope the experts on this site don't get fed up with the endless ID requests. I always try to work out what things are, but still go hopelessly wrong. I think this might be a mining bee but not sure Andrena what...
...
and as for this...
Both in the garden today. Thanks as ever for any help. |

| | | Re: ID pls for poss mining bee and bright-winged something Afternoon Dilly,
The first looks good for Andrena bicolor. The second I'm not too sure about.
I doubt the experts would get bored of requests. Speaking for myself, I certainly won't!
Take care, Jason |

Take care, Jason | I was also thinking A. bicolor for the first, but not too confident on these solitary bees! |

| | | Re: ID pls for poss mining bee and bright-winged something Well many thanks to Aeshna too. And of course Matt for coming up with Nomada sp,. and the fact it's a bee, which is certainly good enough for me! |

| | | Re: ID pls for poss mining bee and bright-winged something The first one is Andrena bicolor.
I got pics of a tiny one today which is baffling me, it is so similar to this but the head shape is more like Osmia, I need to go bee pic hunting.
The second one looks very dark, it looks very worn which is strange at this time of year. I'm afraid I can't be of help there.
Janet

| | | Re: ID pls for poss mining bee and bright-winged something I see what you mean about the wing margins. The rest just looks a little faded to me, probably the pic.
