| | | Large springtail? I think this is a springtail, quite big and with a respectable 'mane'. Any ideas as to its ID? I found it in my conservatory, probably disturbed it while moving pots around. This was probably near the 5 mm. What is the largest UK springtail?

It looks like Orchesella villosa to me - nice shot! It's the mane that helped with the ID. as for the biggest Collembola, I've heard of O. cincta getting to 8mm or so, but not sure which other species may exceed that.
