| | | Leech Massive in Park I have just joined this group as I found a massive leech in our local wildlife park on a very very wet walk in the early morning as I was rescuing worms from being waterlogged (strange I know). Have been pondering it and then suddenly realised it might be a horse leech and had a brilliant photo from this site posted by Ians-pix jThank you so much. Now I know that my extremely un-ecological boot dance on the thing has not removed a rare and endangered species from the planet.

| | | Re: Leech Massive in Park Hi Jomal and welcome to WAB.
Leeches are fascinating creatures with an interesting life history. Horse Leeches are, I think, the biggest species you'll see.
Up in Cumbria we have localised populations of the protected Medicinal Leech which are large and quite colourful.
