just looked up phoridae,seems they are otherwise known as scuttle fly with a habit of running rather than taking to the wing. |

Unfortunately this one did take to the wing which meant I was unable to get shots from other viewpoints  .

Perfect viewpoint Toby. Your pic shows a lot of interesting detail too - particularly at the business end.
