| | | Cocoon the size of my head!!!! Found this cocoon in my loft today! Desperately trying to find out what it is! Can anyone help?
Its a white/creamy cocoon, but the size of my head. sort of freaked out!

| | | Re: Cocoon the size of my head!!!! I would say the Common wasp, Vespula vulgaris nest. They can get to large proportions.
This must be last year's nest, and if you didn't notice them they obviously weren't a problem. A work of art for you to admire!

| | | Re: Cocoon the size of my head!!!! Well established wasp nests can get quite big. Google images for wasp nests and compare. I might be wrong but I don't think so. Someone else will be along soon to confirm/identify. |

It would be a shame to kill her, which is what the pest control would probably do, 'cos they're scared too.
