| | | Large wasps! hi..
as you can see im new to all this,and im looking for some help/advice
earlier this evening as i was watching tv i noticed a very large wasp crawling across my carpet!... i was stunned to see it as its been so cold and obviously just the start of march... i mentioned it to my dad who thentold me he found one this afternoon inthe bathroom (few metres from where i found one).
he said it was very large and dopey like as was the one i saw.. could it possiable we have a nest? at this time of year?
any help would be great im alittle freaked out

| | | Re: Large wasps! It must be a queen wasp which has overwintered in your house. They do come in the autumn and hide away in pelmets or corners and then wake up to start a new colony later on. Watch out for them getting into your slippers as they sting! Catch them in a glass and put out in a shed or hedge.

Seriously, I imagine they could both have come in at the same time, from the same place... you may even have had a nest very near your house (or in the roof space) without knowing it. |
