| | | Mymaridae Ooctonus vulgatus? Hi,
I found this tiny wasp on the pond on 5th March. It was around 1mm long, I lifted it out and got some better pics, it cleaned itself up and flew. One pic is on the pond.
I feel sure it's Mymaridae, and suspect Ooctonus. I found a pic of O. vulgatus which looks very much like it except for the scapes on the antennae, although counting the segments it's probably a male while mine is a female (I think!).
There are 6 Ooctonus species here.. Checklist of UK Recorded Mymaridae
Here's the pic I found, if you click on it there is a key for a few species but it's in Portuguese (Spanish!). Ooctini
I had to resize the last pic showing the full version on my index finger tip.
