| | | Craneflies Hi,
I am looking for an I.D. on each of these craneflies. Thanks in advance.
These were all in England.
This one was in Southampton somewhere.
Eyeworth Pond at Fritham.
Same as above.
The inclosure that is opposite Marchwood (I forget the name, it begins with L)

| | | Re: Craneflies 1 is Nephrotoma quadrifaria.
2 is a Ptychoptera species - freshy emerged and not yet hardened.
3 is a Tipula species (I'd need to think about this).
4 is another Nephrotoma - possibly Nephrotoma flavescens. |

| | | Re: Craneflies Thanks for the I.D.s, once I began to find craneflies other than the regular grey-brown species it became more interesting.
Also, those Ptychoptera craneflies look quite exotic with their colours....I believe these ones are also called Phantom craneflies? I've been after the american species for a while now, who new I would find one back in England? |
