| | | ID please - Is this a chaser Hi ,
Never thought to ask in here as am usually in the birds forum, doh! Last summer we dug a pond & a month later I saw this beastie dipping about on the surface. I have no experience with waterbugs at all except to think it was some sort of flattened dragonfly. I looked through a few books & I think it might have been a female broad bodied chaser. I also had a look on the net & there seems to have been some sort of survey on it in 2007. Is this an annual survey & should I had reported it?
Was I right, was it a chaser? Sorry about the rubbsh photo, it was really quick & wouldn't sit still & I'm no photographer!
Thanks in advance

Nice to know I'm not completely useless at id then. However, looking at my posts typing's pretty bad

| | | Re: ID please - Is this a chaser This species is a rapid coloniser and is often found in freshly dug ponds. They are now quite common across North Yorkshire. Fantastic creatures. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
