after looking through some pictures on this site, i believe i have found some varied carpet beetles in my daughters bedroom. up to now i have found about 40 of them around her room. i don't know what to do? how do i get rid of them? she has no carpet in her room, the only carpet we have in the house is the stairs and landing which was recently put down. the only place i have found them though is in her room and 1 in mine.... please advise me, i really have no clue on what to do....thank you  |

 They live in the crevices of floors feeding on fluff and threads of wool.THe vacum is the best way.Light traps work.Insectiside are not human freindly... |

thank you. do they bite???? my daughter keeps coming up in little red blotches over her body the doctor says they are insect bites! |

some say they do not bit.THE HAIRS can cause allergic reactions if swallowed. a google search on carpet beetles bings up a lot of imformation.  |

They dont bite (would be extremely rare if they did) and pretty much harmless. The young feed on dead insects, hair, skin, feathers etc, the adults will feed on similar things as well as pollen in summer. Have a really good clean and hoover in all of the small gaps, under things, behind things etc. |
