Hibernating Ichneumon wasp ?

Found this ichneumon wasp apparently hibernating on a folded over leaf in the ground leaf litter. It did not move at all but does not seem to be in a "dead insect" position. I carefully put it back after photographing it.

Its from the Sub-family Ichneumonidae. You often need a really clear look at the wing unless it is distinctive, perhaps Protichneumon. As you say this isnt dead, just shut down for the winter. Nice photo.

Thanks Dogghound for the info. Have to admit i wasn't really after an ID - was just interested in confirmation it was hibernating - it's the first flying insect I've found like this.
