Unknown Caterpillar

Could anyone identify these caterpillars for me please?

Afternoon Harold,

I think it's a caterpillar from the Nymphalidae family... not sure. Is the plant Bramble?

When and where these found, and do you have any other photographs?

Hi Harold,Early instar Fox Moth ? Bramble is one of their foodplants,what time of Year did you see them,all the best Bri.

Thank you for your replies and the identification.

The caterpillars were feeding on Bramble.

The photograph was taken on 1st June 1987 at Braunton Burrows NNR.

I am in the process of digitising my collection of approximately 10,000 slides and cataloguing them at the same time.
