| | | Id request of Iggly Wigglies Hello to one and all,
I would be appreciative of a nod in the direction of these iggly wigglies.
They were found huddled together over wintering amongst the leaf litter of an Oak in North London a couple of days ago.
Thanks for any feedback forthcoming
Hoping there a little more exotic than leather jackets
thanx
pics to come

Your images I do believe!
They could be Cranefly larvae.
Click here to see the page one of your photos are on - Iggly Wigglies - Wild About Britain Pics, and then look for the 'Linked Thumbnail' code below it under additional info. Just double-click the code to highlight it and then paste it into your subsequent posts where you'd like it to appear.

| | | Re: Id request of Iggly Wigglies Sawfly then? That was my initial thought after Soldierfly, but was thrown by the way they seem to have been buried.
Anyone else? |

Is it possible that it's a larval stage of green tortrix.
Though I'm not sure if they hatch from eggs on the tree or not?
& I'm not reallty too hot on life cycles of moths.

Anyone else? | sawfly was my first thought too but I can't think of one that we'd find in that situation? |

They could be some sort of moth larva though.
