White/grey fly with red eyes

Stockgrove Country Park, Beds (3rd Jan 2010). Fence separating coniferous wood from meadow.

Help with identification appreciated as always:

I have a feeling this is an Anthomyiidae, I sometimes get the families mixed up between Muscide and Anthomyiidae as there are some in each which look like they should be in the other family but this still looks like an Anthomyiid. Females of this family are nearly impossible to do, on some occasions if all the bits necessary to see are visible they might be doable but you usually need a key.

The fly is standing on an old plastic support for electric fence wire (now long gone) present at the top of most of the fence posts.
