| | Christmas Day: A 22-spotted Ladybird! Hi all,
It was about 4'c and sunny today, as I went out into the garden. I was surprised to see this Twenty-two spotted Ladybird on a fence... 25/12/2009 As you'll see, the photo has suffered due to lack of light! ...he was understandably groggy!
An interesting record, perhaps. For me personally, anyway!
Take care, Jason |

Although I understand this is a reasonably common species I've yet to photograph the larva, pupa or adult - so one for 2010 - with luck!

| | | Re: Christmas Day: A 22-spotted Ladybird! Evening Bruce,
A good memory - yes, I did! I am so annoyed though... I went and cropped the orginal, and accidentally used 60% as the save quality from another process, and it shows! I usuallly go for 80% and it doesn't notice.
Thanks. I was wanting a full head-on too, but it was facing upwards and sat at neck-level on a fence as it was, and so impossible to get the camera at the focusing distance and still see the LCD.
Good luck in 2010 with that then, Bruce - look in meadows around Creeping Cinquefoil and Herb Robert - I have both in my garden. I dont know if it's really a known host or foodplant, though.
Take care, Jason | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
