Stockgrove Country Park, Beds. On fence separating coniforous woods from meadow.
Help with identification appreciated.

Morning Bruce,
It's a fly from thee Fanniidae family. I'll get back to you on species, though very likely a Fannia sp. A late record - I didn't know this Genus was still active, and this individual looks in very good health!

I'd stick in front of the experts on diptera.info ... Nikita Vikhrev might be able to give you a name - especially if you can post a few pics of different angles |

Chris I've been unable to connect to the diptera.info website (Sunday). As I'm having no problems otherwise I'm assuming the website is currently down for some reason.
