not the best hiding place
went out today to check my feeders, and found this little fella hiding away, must be nice and dry, but if a bird comes for a meal, one of them is going to have a nasty shock . not sure what type of bee it is, quite hard to tell without disturbing it.

Nice dry spot for it! This is a Syrphid fly, Eristalis tenax and it looks like a male.

its been there a couple of days, but i don't think its in too much danger, i hardly ever get birds in the garden anyway, very urban neighbourhood with little wildlife. in fact all i've seen is a dunnock of late and i'm pretty sure it won't feed from the feeder
