Thanks in advance for any info | Not sure about the cocoons on your towel but the larva on your walls looks like the Carpet beetle larva in family Dermestidae. Yes if you have a lot you should be worried, check around the edges of your carpet (if you have one) or anywhere there's edible materials. The Varied Carpet beetle Anthrenus verbasci is a common one but there are others, they often live in old birds nests so if you have any sort of opening to the roof space they could be coming from there.
The cocoons sound like some sort of moth which are pupating.

| | | Re: can anyone identify please??? Definitely Anthrenus - Carpet or museum beetle - the scourge of all entomology collections I kill them on sight - they're not a plague or infestation species but they're probably nibbling your carpets so that's a pretty good reason to whack it Same goes for any little, roundish, mottled beetles (the adults) you might find in the house. |

| | | Re: can anyone identify please??? Hi guys and thanks for the replies,
It makes sense that they are carpet beetles as i only find them up stairs which is the only place in the house with .............. carpets!
I find one every couple of weeks so i dont think there is a real problem but how do i get rid of them
Many thanks guys | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
