| | | Ladybird Atlas of the British Isles It has probably been mentioned before but ....
An atlas of the Coccinellidae of the UK is being produced. All verified records of all species will be welcomed and will be useful.
Records can be sent to ladybird-survey@ceh.ac.uk
Specimens, photographs and paper records should be sent to:
Dr Helen Roy
Biological Records Centre
CEH Wallingford
Maclean Building
Crowmarsh Gifford
Wallingford
OX10 8BB
If anyone wants to pm or e-mail me, I shall be pleased to pass records on.
As with all biological recording, the information should include species, name of identifier, date, location (six-digit grid reference for preference), numbers of individuals. Presence of early life stages, activity (mating, feeding) would also be of interest.
The nominal last date for receiving records is the end of December 2009. |

| | | Re: Ladybird Atlas of the British Isles Hi Paul,
An excellent idea - thanks for posting Paul, and John for sticking
I'll get to work... I seem to have 12 species, though I'll email them with photos for verification - well, as far as photos can go. Six-figure codes will be included, naturally.
Thanks for the heads-up
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: Ladybird Atlas of the British Isles Yes I should have lots of dots on maps within this atlas,I'm rather looking foward to when it comes out.Its getting harder to find new species and locations though,as Southampton is quite well covered now,but try I will.Cheers Paul |

| | | Re: Ladybird Atlas of the British Isles Not too long to go now folks - please try and get your observations in! If you haven't made any records then go out tomorrow and look in sheltered places: you'll almost certainly find a brave ladybird somewhere! |

| | Re: Ladybird Atlas of the British Isles I have just sent in my records, although I listed them all nicely in WordPad with bold, underlining etc. I copied and pasted into the email and lost all that but it's OK.
I had too many to send pics, but if any sound to be interesting enough I will send them if requested.

| | | Re: Ladybird Atlas of the British Isles Yes showing lack of knowledge and experience towards ladybirds I'm affraid, all I know is it was your typical ladybird with 6 spots . A field guide to ladybirds is a must!!
