| | | Yellow jumping plant louse - Psyllid Stony Stratford, Bucks. On fence under ash, willow and sycamore.
I have seen quite a few of these over the last few weeks (4 or 5 today) and had assumed that their colouring was due to being recently emerged. However, I haven't seen any other Psyllids at this location over the same period. So help with identification and any comments appreciated.

| | | Re: Yellow jumping plant louse - Psyllid Thanks for your help Joe - I'm pleased it turned out to be an actual yellow coloured species not some unidentifiable, newly emerged individual.

| | | Re: Yellow jumping plant louse - Psyllid Quoted from another site:
Psyllopsis fraxinicola
Family: Psyllidae
Psyllopsis species all feed on Ash, and although most have distinctive patterning, for this species the main diagnostic generic feature is that there are 9-10 metatibial spines rather than up to 6 in similar genera.
P. fraxinicola is the most distinct species, lacking a dark pattern on the wing membrane, and with a generally greenish body colouration, also without the dark markings of other species. It closely resembles some species, but the host plant and the genitalia are reliable. The female genitalia are shorter than in almost all Cacopsylla species.
Common on Ash (Fraxinus spp.) across the UK.
Adult: June to October
Length 3-3.5 mm |

Plenty of ash trees in the vicinity.
