meadow invertebrates

Hi,

I did a photographic survey of the meadow at Temple Hill (located in Dartford, kent) on 2nd of October 09, which also has a woodland one side and a motorway the other, along with some houses.

I started to identify the invertebrates I photographed, but some of them I couldn't work out what species they were from the books. Also the spider ident book was starting to give me nightmares!

I think some of the snails are of the same species but I am not too sure.

I think the creature on the leaf maybe an aphid, but again i'm not sure.

Hi Annie,

Glad it's worked!

#1: A female Darter species

#2: A male Darter species

#3: Linyphiidae family member

#4: Banded snail, maybe a Cepaea sp. or related

#5: Garden Snail, Cornu aspersum (= was Helix aspersa, name changed!)

#6: Perhaps White-lipped Banded Snail, Cepaea hortensis

#7: ??! Sorry, can't really make it out. Is that it by your finger nail to the left? I so it may be a Psyllid, but very hard to say!

#8: Banded snail, maybe Caepa sp. again

#9: Banded snail, maybe Caepa sp. - yellow form?

#10: Banded snail, perhaps Caepa sp.

#11: Banded snail, maybe Caepa sp. - yellow form?

Hi Jason,

Thank you so much for identification - sorry it's been a bit late.

The little possible Psyllid is next to the right of my finger nail - I looked it up on the internet and I don't remember it having wings, but may have had some - so maybe it was not a fully grown adult, but it walked very fast!
