| | | Small shield bug for ID This one was only about 1cm long. It appeared to change colour as I snapped it on the leaf or table. Iridescent and very pretty. Do they change to darker colours in the autumn?  |

Susie is of course very close. I'll go for the similar Birch Shieldbug, Elasmostethus interstinctus on account of the more expansive green on the pronotum and dark/pale-tipped wings. One I have yet to see!

Take care, Jason  | I agree with Jason on this one, a much smaller beast tha Hawthorn SB (not that you can tell this from the photo); also lacks the "pointy shoulders" of Hawthorn SB. |
