| | [ID] Ladybird - Scymnus interruptus or not? Hi all,
I was pretty pleased to see this beauty in the garden today. It was very patient and allowed for a series of shots. 25/10/2009 Is it a Scymnus sp.? Size: c3mm.
Any help appreciated!
Take care, Jason

| | | Re: [ID] Ladybird - Scymnus interruptus or not? Morning Jason.Im new to the micro or untypical ladybirds, . But just in case was it much smaller than a melanic form of Adalia 10-punctata at 3.5mm to 4.5mm?Hopefully somebody though, knows these micro/untypical ladybirds well ,on WAB. I'm looking foward to learning about this one. |

| | | Re: [ID] Ladybird - Scymnus interruptus or not? I'm far from expert on these but it certainly looks like a Scymnus sp.. Looks compatable with the most common British one, Scymnus frontalis but not as elongate as I would expect (but maybe a male?) and perhaps a bit blacker: like S. schmidti perhaps. I'd get expert advice! |
