| | | Insect ID Please Hi all
I took this photo at Keyhaven in July - so this little fella was found down by the coast, hiding in the plants/gorse growing near the shore:
I've been puzzling over this one all summer - I've never seen anything like it, but I'm sure somebody out there has! I can't remember the exact size of it, but judging by the surrounding foliage it wasn't very big.
Not very helpful, I know - sorry ! Hopefully somebody can put me out of my misery....
Thanks for your help

| | | Re: Insect ID Please Good evening Thea, Hmmm... no immediate ideas! From what I can see, it's a brachypetrous ( short-winged) adult ( ?) hemipteran - a Plant Bug maybe? I'll watch with interest. By the coast you say? Probably a less common Coastal, more specialist species then.
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: Insect ID Please This is a really good find - Capsodes sulcatus. Occurs locally in small colonies around the Hampshire area and nearby counties, and classed as Notable B. |

| | | Re: Insect ID Please Thanks guys for the ID - I'm really chuffed to have found something not quite so common for a change
As I've recently become a volunteer photographer with Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust they might want to see this one too.
I'm pretty much a novice at these sort of things though - can you explain what 'Notable B' is please ?
Thanks again

I love going to Keyhaven as there is so much to see, but don't get chance to go there as often as I'd like .
I've probably seen you there without knowing it
