Late lily-beetle

I found a small lily beetle yesterday on a gladioli leaf. Seems a bit late in the year for it. I've only seen a couple of others earlier in the summer, so could this have hatched recently?

Could be a recent emergence although I think not. Imagines have been found active in most months (they are the over-wintering stage). Usually they will be hidden in the soil or leaf litter but may be disturbed and/or go for wander on sunny days!
