| | | Mystery wasp? nest Hi Folks,
Does anyone know what creature might have emerged from these. The object is made from particles of sand that have been 'stuck' together. I'm guessing some kind of Hymenopteran.
The whole thing is about 1 inch at its widest.
Cheers,

| | | Re: Mystery wasp? nest Hi Eucera,
I need to speak to the Ranger who actually found for extra info. All I can add at the moment is that it was on bare ground (sand/grit/small stones) under an upturned wheelbarrow in our tractor cage here at Bedfont Lakes Country Park. Hopefully I will be able to add more this weekend.
Cheers,

| | | Re: Mystery wasp? nest Right. I've been updated about where it was found. It was in our tractor cage but was in a fuel storage container box 4'x2'x2'. There were several of them on a ledge in the box. The only access into the box is through the keyholes, so we're talking pretty small creature able to live in a pretty toxice environmment. Any help at all?
Cheers,
