Similar/same ichneumon, found in the same location (garage) as a previous one posted, a month or so ago. ichneumon + Moth? + bee iding

| | | Re: Ichneumon id It does look similar to the one you posted in the other thread but I agree with some of the posters there that it isn't Stenichneumon militarius - there are too many differences in the markings and the shape & rugosity. Aside from that ichneumons are not the kind of insects you can reliably identify by comparing photos - there is far too much convergence of morphology and too many alternative species/genera
Best bet it to post the photos on the HymIS forum and let the real experts there cast their verdict |

The one with the white marking was IDed as Coelichneumon desinatorius by Camille Thirion a Belgium expert, who has an exceptional site http://www.cthirion.com/images/
