| | | Late Dragonflies Yesterday we saw 2 species of dragonfly still enjoying the autumn sunshine. Two Common Darter, although tatty, were still able to zip around and 2 Migrant Hawkers were patrolling some holly bushes and diving on any unsuspecting flies. It's good to see them late in the season. A couple more weeks and I should think that will wrap the odonate season up.
Anyone else seen any 'hangers on'?

Last wednesday I saw a Common Hawker and a few Black Darters in the New Forest but I won't be going out looking again if this week's weather forecaset is correct

| | | Re: Late Dragonflies There has been a lovely dark green one flitting about my garden, all along my hedgerow looking for insects until quite recently, didn't see him or her over the weekend and as if never ever landed , i still have no idea just what type of Dragonfly it is.

| | | Re: Late Dragonflies I saw a couple of common darters flitting about over the river this afternoon. It's very mild here, and was quite still at the time.
Next couple of days will be the telling time I think, weather forecast not too good. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
