Well, I've never seen that before! I best go through my images now just in case... in general though, it does happen from time to time and are I think called anomalies? I think your individual is Ectopsocus briggsi.

| | | Re: Barkfly with different left/right wing venation I've seen similar things in leafhoppers quite commonly - some species appear to be particularly prone to it. In other cases, though, the vanation is vital to the ID, so it can be quite a pain if it's doing things like this! |
