| | | What sort of fly is this? The attached picture is an example of the flies that, every now and again, decide to invade our house. In fact they tend to come into the house and die on one of two window sills in a particular room. We have no idea where they are coming from; the house is only 5 years old with double glazing everywhere. Even the vents are closed on the windows where they congregate. Today was a sunny day and I noticed that there were dozens of these flies on the outside of the house by one of the windows. We live about 50 metres from fields that for the last few years has been sown with folder maze which has just been cut and we are wondering if it is anything to do with that. 
Looking at this super site the best I can find is a Muscid Fly, is this correct?
