| | | Unidentified bug with spotted legs Northants garden. On unknown plant (loose foliage with many yellow, daisy-like heads).
Help with identification appreciated as always.

| | | Re: Unidentified bug with spotted legs Interesting! It's a Dicyphus species, and looks like D. escalerae. This is a species that specialises on Antirhynum, and has only recently been reported in the UK, although already it's pretty widespread. Tristan will probably have more to say on this one... |

| | | Re: Unidentified bug with spotted legs Hi Bruce, I havent a clue really, being very inexpert - but what a beautiful bug and a great pair of pics.
However, that said, quite close to a capsid bug like Phytocoris tiliae maybe?
Cheers
Ken

| | | Re: Unidentified bug with spotted legs Thanks Joe and Ken.
Joe - Although I found it (them actually - a male and female) on the yellow daisy, there is a large, pink Antirhynum right next to it.
Ken - I can see where you're coming from with P. tiliae although from the several pics I've Googled P.tiliae looks to have a more "marbled" appearance.

| | | Re: Unidentified bug with spotted legs I'm sure this is escalerae, they do have quite a long season if last year is anything to go by. As Joe says, do check the Antirrhinum and you should find more |

| | | Re: Unidentified bug with spotted legs Morning Bruce,
Well done! A nice find there, I can never see any other than D. epilobii... the shots are good too!
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: Unidentified bug with spotted legs Thanks Jason - Yes I was quite excited to come across this species (even before I knew what it was). No more so far but I'll keep checking the Antirrhinum.
