The reason that most of Scotland seems bereft of ladybirds is due to latitude more than altitude - most uplands and highlands are too cold and wet for them! A further point is that large tracts of Scotland are poorly recorded - when people have gone out specifically and intensively looking for ladybirds they have found some - if not many. |

Cheers! | Well perhaps it was a female who'd been eating up and taking exercise  10-spots are usually 4-5 mms but, as with most things, there are exceptions. |
