Chironomus plumosus ????? Wings shorter than abdomen, antenna plumose, wings folded tent like over body.
Scuttled away rather than taking flight, when i disturbed it on the shed lock. Intrigued, I took photos

There's a lot of Chironomidae, but little can be found on them. Look at bugguide.net and the subfamilies in Chironomidae, you will get a good idea there of how many different ones there are. Family Chironomidae - Midges - BugGuide.Net

No cross vein that i can see, and having done a google search.
Can only settle for Non biting midge
