Day 3, still a little less than 3mm long but growing. Abdomen more filled in.

I took a distance shot of the brick and outlined both the stuck egg and baby. The brick is 120mm wide, the side view pic enlarged on my 19" flat wide screen measures 350mm across so it is showing nearly 3 times actual size.

I had to resize the brick pics as they were too large to upload so you won't get much enlargement on them.

The baby looks like its doing very well!

Good to have these distance shots too to help us remind the proportions to 'our' world!

So far so good!

Yes, our world is a land of giants to such a tiny thing, but I doubt it's aware of us as yet.

If you look carefully I think you should see some tiny claws on some of the 'feet'.

I took one last pic of baby two days ago, it had become less transparent and the abdomen maybe more developed. As we had a lot of heavy rain that night, yesterday morning when I checked it had disappeared. Hopefully washed into the pond, it was still there at nightfall before the rain.

In a year's time I expect to see the first darter emerge, on doing so it will blurt out....."mommy, I have been looking for you for a whole year!"

In the meantime I will be watching for that little nymph and giving it a wave....
