From Diptera - Please help

Hello!
I've been for weeks trying to ID this fly. It is not for sure Hoverfly. I think it is a bee fly or a horse fly. please someone can tell me what is this!?
and its scientific?

Hi Bugg, and welcome to WAB!

This isn't a UK species, is it? I guess it's a Hoverfly, Syrphidae family.

I've been searching in all books, in all I could, In diptera info's site, and there is no close ID for this.

I've tracked it down to Tachinidae, Trichopoda sp. but there is no record on the Tachinid site of any of that genus in the UK!

I think it would be a good idea to contact them on this site to let them know, Chris Raper is also a moderator on diptera.info.

It could be Trichopoda pennipes, they are native to the US!!

Well done Janet! I agree. I really doubt this was taken in the UK, though! A holiday shot I imagine.

Ah yes, Bugg has London as a location, but if they can tell us where it was taken that would help!

Hey Guys!
For sure It was in London.
But tell me if this is from US, that means that this bug was lost!?
Maybe this horse fly is common on other places on UK, and for moments came to UK!?

I've seen and probably is a Trichopoda sp.!
This is very weird! how could this fly arrive here!?

And even though the Trichopoda sp., is just a possibility, because the pictures are just similar...
