Rosemary beetle

I went outside in the dark a few months back to pick some rosemary, and was suprised, when I brought it into the light, to find it looking really tatty and chewed. The following day revealed the culprits - it was covered with these beautiful creatures. I had never seen them before, but wasn't that surprised to look them up and find that they're called Rosemary Beetles.

My Mum had a large dose of these on her lavender last year, oddly not this year though.

They are beautiful but a real pest species, their grubs will do unpleasant things to your rosemary and lavender given a chance.

I found them in the garden two years ago. I thank the very cold winter for there not being so many around this year.
