| | | B.rupestris - lapidarius - confusus?
Who was my visitor, I hate not remembering names.:
B. confusus- rupestris- lapidarius
Came in to the conservatory for a couple of hours rest, before unceremoniously going on his/her way.

I agree with Janet though - not possible to be certain, however, B. lapidarius is the most likely. I would not submit this as a record though |

I had one unearthed in the potato patch today, it eventually flew off but I haven't seen them flying for a long time. |

though | Thanks Janet & eucera your views echo my thoughts. I never saw its head, although it moved around, kept it hidden beneath the overhang.

Col | Strangely it was back again (or its twin) this afternoon. had a rest under the eaves. Can't have been healthy for it , I'd been using paint stripper close to where it was 2hrs earlier. Didn't stay long after I noticed it, so no pic
Did see the head this time, it was all black, but it was hunkered down as if asleep. So could still be either.
