| | | Bug that's bugging me! LOL Hi all,
I found a tiny bug the other day while looking around the garden of my mums (potential) new bungalow.
It was mid green in colour with slight black markings on it's top, smaller and flatter than a Ladybird, had a roundish rather than oval shape....... and I can't find anything in my book to match it
I have never seen a bug like it before but am hoping some of you will know what I've seen.
No camera with me I'm afraid, so no pics
My mum's going for another look around the bungalow this afternoon and I've asked her to text me the name of the plant I found it on. It's a common one but I just can't remember....but it might help with the ID.
Thanks,
Tracey.x

The ones I've seen have been ladybird-ish size

| | | Re: Bug that's bugging me! LOL More difficult without a photo ,from the size you describe, it could be the nymph of the Green Shieldbug. |

Tracey
I've just found this on a google search and it's the closest I can get to mine......so I think you're both right with the Green Shield Bug.....but it's a nymph as Jason says. http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?im...a%3DG%26um%3D1
Thanks again to you both:-)

| | | Re: Bug that's bugging me! LOL The amount of black on the nymphs is very variable, and they change with each moult. Try google images to see the full range, but I'm pretty sure that it is what you saw.

| | | Re: Bug that's bugging me! LOL Hi Tracey,
One other suspect - was it White Deadnettle or a mint? If so, try the Green Tortoise Beetle, Cassida viridis. I agree though, more likely the GS.
Take care, Jason |
