Some insects for ID

Do you have any side-shots, or at least one that shows part of the abdomen's colour? It should be orange ideally, but if not - back to square one

I do not have side views of that particular fly but later I photographed another

Found this one under a leaf. It holds its wings in a similar fashion to an ant with the leading edge downwards. The thorax is humped and the abdomen has black and white markings across it.

I think your Aphid MAY be Myzus pursicae as I mounted one the other day - it seemed to key out OK. The black fly is likely a Platypezidae member and your last one is a Dung Fly - Scathophaga sp.

The black fly looks good for Polyporivora ornata but I would get expert opinion to be sure.

Last one should be Scathophaga stercoraria as it has black antennae.

Thank you Janet for your IDs and also the link to the diptera site. I have added it to my favourites and registered there.
Looking at the fly you have linked to, it seems to fit very well. When I have completed the registration process on that site I shall get someone there to confirm one way or the other as you have suggested.
