I took this photo of a beetle in my garden in Surrey a few days ago. My Collins guide does not seem to list it and I can't find it anywhere else.  |

I'm very excited as I know this one! Its a rosemary beetle (Chrysolina americana) Lots of photos in the Gallery so you can check and make sure , one of which is mine  Rosemary beetle - Chrysolina americana - Wildlife Photography
They are relatively 'new' I think and are found on lavenders and other herb type plants. Lovely to look at, not so delightfull in a garden.

Thanks loripo, another in the list of invasive species along with lily beetles, harlequin ladybirds etc. I will exterminate them after taking their photos from now on.
