Unknown Chafer

Hi, One night, I had a v.large chafer fly in through the window. Attracted by the light, I assume.
It was v.big, about 2" long, black in colour and very active and keen to fly if I let it go. I can't find anything to match in my books or on the net. Nor have I seen any since.
Any ideas?

Hi,

Look at Nicrophorus humator. They do look very big, I had one but it was 30mm long. I think you might find this closer to the mark. It has orange fans on the antennae ends.

Hi. Thanks. It could well have been one of those.
It made a puffing sound when held firm. Did yours do that?
