I.d. please.
Not sure but is this an azure hawker ?
Seen at blacktoft sands today.
Also any ideas as to what insect I saw when the camera was in the bag. It was black, slender with a wasp like face,orange legs and a very long (5mm+) "sting". Can't find them in my books and have never been able to get a photo although I have seen them before.

Its a southern Hawker. (Azure hawkers are restricted to Scotland).


The other insect sounds like an Ichneumon wasp.
