| | | Chequered Skipper Hi
does anyone know what kind of a year it was for chequered skipper in the Fort William area? I'm heading to the area soon for a couple of days to do some larval searches on a site where there are no adult records. If its been a good year I'll feel a bit more confident. PS I'm happy to chat about CS larval feeding damage if anyone is interested having studied it for a few years. |

| | | Re: Chequered Skipper I can't really offer any suggestions as I am completely at the other end of the country.
But you may get a better response if you transfer this post to the Butterfly Forum. |

| | | Re: Chequered Skipper There are lots around that area but you are going at the wrong time of the year to spot them. Their flight season is from May until late June.

| | | Re: Chequered Skipper Hi Ron
I'm going to look for caterpillars not adults. They overwinter as larvae. I know it might sound daft but it can be done if there have been a lot of adults around. |

| | | Re: Chequered Skipper Thanks Ron. I was really asking did they have a good flight season this year i.e. were there plenty about on the good sites e.g. Loch Arkaig just to get a feel for things. |

| | | Re: Chequered Skipper Not got a clue Johnny I live around 70 miles away from Fort William, but you should send a PM to seammusaglean, he lives around that area and may be able to help. Have a good holiday
