Although it was a bit breezy on Tuesday, we went out around Fen Drayton Lakes. I took with my Panasonic FZ30 with the Raynox DCR150 attachment in the hope of some insect snaps.
At the very end of our walk, my wife pointed out this Common Darter on a seed head. To get a good shot with the FZ30 etc, you have to get very close. This little beast was so good natured and let me get very near.......
I was so close that the dragon abandoned its seed head and hopped onto the end of my thumb. It even allowed my to bring my thumb up close enough to have to a real good look. By then, my wife was well ahead and was not there to snap this strange event. Even if she had been, without her reading glasses ..........
I then tried to take a photo left handed with the camera upside down to make it easier to press the button. This is the best
The dragon then flew back to one of the seed heads quite unperturbed; and then allowed this close-up
