bug ID please


seem to have rather a lot of these on 1 of my shrubs & I don't think that they are doing it any good ...

Pyrrhalta viburni commonly found on viburnum.

Seems particularly damaging on Guelder Rose, Vibunum opulus, which is often grown in gardens as well as being a native shrub.

Yes when in large numbers these small chrysomelids can strip plants, ive seen it in other species. Particularly when there are large numbers of larvae.
