| | | Bumblebee ID Hi,
I saw this bumblebee in June S. Yorks. I think it looks most similar to B. muscorum but I am not sure.
Could somebody please let me know either if it is this sp, or if it is another sp and why.
Thanks very much

| | | Re: Bumblebee ID I would say Bombus pascuorum, they can have very few blacks hairs on them (or none!).

| | | Re: Bumblebee ID Thanks for the id. I was hoping it was something different to the ubiquitous B. pascuorum because it seemed bigger, but maybe they vary in size?

| | | Re: Bumblebee ID They can vary quite a lot in size and shades of colouration which tends to change slightly depending on the angle of light. Males look rather similar to females and well worn specimens of each only adds to the possible confusion. |

| | | Re: Bumblebee ID Ok, Thanks Janet and Geoff for your replies. It seems I'll have to keep looking then to spot something different to the usual bumblebees.
