| | | Bug Confirmation/ID I think this is a Marsh Damsel Bug - Nabis limbatus. |

| | | Re: Bug Confirmation/ID Hi Ben,
My money's on the Ant Damsel Bug, Himacerus mirmicoides. I've also considered the Tree Damsel Bug Himacerus apterus, but I'm not too sure whether to entirely discount this - was it near many trees? I included this as yours appears similar to both... so will await the experts
Take care,
Jason |

| | | Re: Bug Confirmation/ID Thanks Jason. I only thought it might be a Marsh Damsel Bug because of it's location, Crowle Moor. |

| | | Re: Bug Confirmation/ID I'd agree with Jason on this one, slightly leaning towards H. apterus on looks alone. According to British Bugs the antenna length relative to the thorax and abdomen is the clincher to separate the two but it's tricky to estimate it from this angle.
I dare say Joe or Tristan will be along to give the expert opinion.

| | | Re: Bug Confirmation/ID What need for us to come along when you've sorted it out yourselves?
Certainly looks like apterus to me - the very short wings are pretty convincing in themselves, although admittedly they do vary. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
