last sunday my friend and i were at the dudley black country museum which was brilliant and we went on a trip into the limestone caverns and tunnels which were super ! in the walls there were holes where candles were once put by the miners and nearly all had a web across them with a spider in the middle --about garden spider size . they were cave spiders and first i1d seen but can someone tell what they live on? no flies go into the caves but the spiders must catch something to survive? what do cave spiders eat? thanks from sue . if you have never been to the black country museum then do go --its amazing!

Spiders in general can survive for long periods of time without much food. Any meal can give them quite a long spell without eating again, then, WHAM, when something does come along...
