Anyone know what Horse-fly this is please?

Is it Chrysops relictus?

Count yourself lucky, they're nasty pieces of work. I've been bitten by them in Scotland and usually terminate them with extreme preducice! The green eyes are a give away.

Yep they hurt some. That's how I knew it was around. The day before I was stung by a wasp when I was standing on virtually the same spot.
